William H. Bertram (or Bill) has been a life long resident of Livingston County. Bill graduated from Forrest-Strawn-Wing in 1980. While there, Bill played football & baseball and participated in band and the school musicals.
Bill went to Quincy College (now Quincy University) and graduated with a BA in History in 1984. Bill lettered in golf his senior year and graduated Cum Laude.
Bill went to St. Louis University School of Law and graduated in 1988. While there, Bill won the Client Counseling Award and participated in the Regional Finals in 1986.
After law school, Bill started the practice of law at Fellheimer Law Firm in Pontiac, Illinois. Bill then joined the Fulton County State’s Attorney’s office as an Assistant State’s Attorney in 1991. Bill became First Assistant in 1993 before leaving to come back home to Pontiac, Illinois and join the firm of Satter, Beyer & Spires. Bill was a member of Satter, Beyer, Bertram & Gabor from 1993 to 2012, when the firm dissolved.
Bill is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and the Livingston County Bar Association. Bill is also a member of St. Mary’s Parish, the Knights of Columbus and Pontiac Elks Lodge #1019. Bill serves as a trustee for the City of Pontiac Library and also coaches basketball at St. Mary’s School.
Bill has been a past board member for the Pontiac Chamber of Commerce and PROUD.
